Importance of Regularly Scheduled Tire Maintenance

Your tires are your cushion between your vehicle and the road. Regular service on your tires is necessary as they see some of the most wear when gripping the road. It doesn't matter if you're commuting to work or you're known to explore the beaten path-wear is inevitable.

Having tires that are fully serviced not only ensures your safety but also increases the efficiency of your vehicle. When your tires are properly aligned, rotated, tread depth, balance, and have enough air in them, your vehicle is at its peak performance. You'll gain better handling on the road, ride, braking, safety, and maybe even notice better fuel efficiency.

How Often Should I Inspect My Tires?

You should inspect your tires semi-regularly, we even suggest monthly. Depending on your driving habits, you might need to replace or align your tires more frequently. If you drive on back roads with potholes and debris, live in a cold climate, or rack up the miles on long drives, you should inspect your tires more often.

Types of Tire Service

Rotations

Rotating your tires is one of the most basic and important regular maintenances to stay on top of. We suggest our drivers rotate their tires about once a year, at least. If you're here getting an oil change, we will be sure to check your tires to determine whether or not a tire rotation is necessary. When our technicians rotate your tires, they take all four of them off, inspect the wear, and then reposition them in a pattern that promotes even wear to each tire.

Tire Pressure Checks

Tire pressure should be checked even more frequently-approximately every month. If you drive your vehicle with under- or over-inflated tires, you run the risk of an increased rate of wear, poor efficiency, and unstable driving. Checking your tire pressure is super simple and you can ask our technicians to check on it while you're there as well.

Tire Alignment

Every two to three years, we encourage our drivers to get a tire alignment, but to ensure your safety and the safety of those around you, we emphasize aligning your tires each time you get an oil change. Tire alignments can reduce tire wear and ensure that your vehicle travel is straight and true.

New Tires

Sometimes all you can do is buy some new tires. Whether they're too old, worn, or a new season is upon us, you'll likely need new tires. Your tire life can last quite a while, but it also depends on your type of car you drive, how often you drive it, the climate, and where you drive. We can take a look at your current tires to inspect whether you need a new set. And, you can even order new tires directly from our parts center.
