2025 vs. 2026 Nissan Frontier: What's Different?

At Dutro Nissan in Columbus, OH, we are excited to bring you the 2026 Nissan Frontier. The latest edition of Nissan's stalwart midsize pickup truck gets some notable updates for the new model year. Here is how the 2026 Frontier compares to the 2025 model.

New Standard Features Within the Trim Lineup

The Nissan Frontier has four trim levels, and all four get new features for 2026:

  • S: The base Frontier trim now comes standard with LED headlights. Previously, the Pro-X and SL trims had this feature.
  • SV: The second Frontier trim gets an all-new available All-Weather Content package. This suite of upgrades includes a heated and leather-wrapped steering wheel, heated front seats, dual-zone automatic climate control, and remote engine start. The SV also gains the available SV Dark Armor Package, which adds 17-inch black wheels and a black grille, mirror caps, badges, and interior trim. The SV also now comes standard with an eight-way power driver's seat.
  • Pro-X and Pro-4X: The off-roader Frontier models get a new color option: Citrus Strike. They also gain heated front seats, a power driver's seat, a heated steering wheel, and remote engine start.

New Drive Modes

When you are off-roading, it can be very helpful to be able to optimize your vehicle's performance to match the terrain. With the 2026 Frontier, now you can. New selectable drive modes let you make adjustments on the fly with the push of a button. The five drive modes are Rock, Sand, On-Road, Mud, and Hill Descent Control.

New Roush Pro-4X R

Roush is legendary for producing modified cars, trucks, and SUVs that squeeze out every possible drop of a vehicle's performance potential. That is why Nissan has partnered with Roush to create the Frontier Pro-4X R. This modified version of the four-wheel drive Frontier gets a lifted suspension, performance shocks, unique wheels, all-terrain tires, and plenty of eye-catching custom design elements.
